Delaney (She/Her) recently brought her talents to New York City after beginning her Social Work career in Massachusetts. She grew up in charming Richmond, Virginia before moving north in adulthood, and is excited to begin a new chapter at Collaborative. Delaney has experience working with children and families for many years in different capacities and has gathered unique skills working in affordable housing, at a group home, in private practice, in community mental health, and at a public elementary school. She is proud to have graduated from Boston College with her Masters in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families.

Delaney has always been intrigued by the emotional complexities that come with being human and feels privileged to center her career around learning personal narratives and engaging with people’s chosen and biological families. She firmly believes all beings are interconnected and sharing with one another can bring us all closer to living the meaningful lives we deserve. In session, Delaney curates a warm and open atmosphere and hopes every client feels seen, empowered, connected, and looks forward to attending therapy.  Having a background in Social Work reminds Delaney to view the individual as a part of systems, and she is eager to explore the various reasons that bring individuals and families to make the brave choice to attend therapy and help them reach their goals. She is drawn to postmodern modalities that are person-centered, such as Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Solution Focused Therapy.

An avid animal lover and reader, she is always open to a book recommendation or pet photo. In her free time, Delaney loves to go on runs in Brooklyn, swim whenever she can, make art, bike to friends’ houses, discover the best thrift store finds, and relax in the sun.
